The name of the theertham is Darsana Pushkarni, the name of the vimanam is Utbala Vimanam. The temple has seven features such as vimanam, mantapam, aranyam, saras, shetram, river, town. Hence, this temple is also known as Saptamrutha Kshetram. It is believed that if one stays at the temple, even for one night, he will attain moksha. There are many magnificent idols in this temple, especially Sri Vaikundanathan Perumal on top of Garudan. There is a beehive in the Thayar shrine, to which pooja is done daily. It is also said Goddess Lakshmi did penance here in this temple, so this place is also known as Lakshmi Vanam. History also states that Lord Siva is protecting the temple in its four sides. Desikar utsavam Sri Nigamantha Desikar temple is in the north of the Baktavatsala Perumal sanctum. On September 15, 2004, the utsavam for the Lord took place with religious festivities.
