Selling is a Way of Living
Selling“People get caught up in wonderful, eye-catching pitches, but they don't do enough to close the deal. It's no good if you don't make the sale. Even if your foot is in the door or you bring someone into a conference room, you don't win the deal unless you actually get them to sign on the dotted line.” Donald Trump
This is Donald Trump’s personal philosophy on the art of selling. People like him have set the standards and you can learn a lot from them.
You can learn from others or you could invent our own set of rules to help us in ‘close the deal’. Think of rules as your own personal philosophy about selling.
It doesn’t matter whether you share them with others or not. What matters is that you apply them.
In other words, if they help you achieve what you want to achieve then keep going.
Selling is a Challenge
To accept a challenge is to make up your mind to achieve your objectives in a positive manner. To complete any job you need to challenge yourself.

By taking a challenge you stretch your abilities to perform better than before.
When you perform better you accept more challenges and this becomes a way of life. When you accept a challenge, you give your best.
You perform better when you break out of your comfort zone.
Sell with Belief and Conviction
Selling is a belief. Like all beliefs you need to exactly know what you are selling and how it would benefit your customer.

You must believe what you sell is beneficial for your customer. Know your product. Know your customer’s needs - visible and subliminal - in advance. Convince yourself first and then go out and convince your customer!
Know Your Strengths
You need to know who you are and what you can do as well as what you cannot do. Selling is a profession which demands these attributes.

Donald Trump made his own rules and enjoys tremendous success.
Rather than struggling against his weaknesses he put all his efforts in his strengths. No one taught him but he embraced the challenge, left his comfort zone, truly believed in his product and knew his strengths.
You can too.
