 Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar hailed to be one of the foremost music composers of the twentieth century was remembered on his 131st birth anniversary at a function held in Chennai, on Sunday.The late music legend’s grand daughter Swarnalatha Subramanian was felicitated by Chief Secretary K S Sripathi, the chief guest of the function. Swarnalatha Subramanian runs a school of music in New Delhi. Swarnalatha’s disciples Anaka, Arunachala Karthik and N C Bharadwaj rendered a concert at the function. Harikesanallur Venkatraman, a music critic and author Sivasankari, who hail from Muthiah Bhagavathar’s family, spoke on the occasion. |
