Anger Ruins LifeThis is a featured page

The Bhagavata purana says that anger grows along with the growth of the child. If not controlled in boyhood, it becomes uncontrollable later. Educating the child to contain anger is not easy. At that stage in life, the child resents denial of anything it desires and the parent cannot sermonise.

Anger Ruins Life - SaranathanIn ancient times, there were gurukulams in India where teachers trained their wards aright. Of course some teachers were not exemplars. In such cases, the pupils who were affected by the angry commands of the teacher used to resolve in their minds to be better examples. Anger provoking jealousy would induce ill-will against its target. One student in Vedic times became an oppressive ruler whom his subjects drove into exile. Puranas have stories of the mishaps angry people run into with none to rescue them from their plight. Some regret in time and become saints. Much depends on the food one takes. Those opting for hot things become hot with anger of course but cold diet does not do the opposite. Indeed when attempts are made to control anger, it gets intensified, hence the advice to keep off persons and circumstances that have caused that anger.
